Nov 19, 2012: After quoting a lot of controversies, the direct selling companies like Amway are hopeful that the corporate affairs ministry will be coming out with guidelines for the industry. They are expecting these guidelines to be out within a month. According to Amway, the Centre has constituted a committee which has representation from Finance Ministry, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Reserve Bank of India. There is still lack of clarity in the way direct selling companies should conduct themselves in India and this has necessitated the need for such guidelines. Currently only two states i.e. Kerala and Rajasthan have come out with guidelines for such companies.
